Coding without coding

I haven't written a single line of code this year. And yet, if we look at my GitHub, I have shipped 22x more lines of code this year, and 14x as many PRs as I did in 2025.

In fact, I've opened 2x as many PRs and written 5x as many lines of code this year as I have in the past 8 years put together.

I'm building the thing that builds the thing

so how'd I write millions of lines without writing a single line? As you could probably guess, I now have a fleet of agents that write code for me. there's usually between 5 and 20 agents running in parallel, 24 hours a day. They run on a remote box, my Sky Harness, which is available to me via my laptop, my desktop, and my phone. I have a little flash drive on my keychain I can plug into any computer to instantly access my agent fleet from anywhere in the world.

If I'm out driving, I can continue working on the same code, hands-free

And what's even crazier is that it's all using software I wrote myself. I designed the agents, I wrote the tmux system they run in, the harness that runs the LLM models, the sky harness and its API, the whole stack! If I'm out driving, I can continue working on the same code, hands-free, using a voice assistant in a custom-made Android app that I also wrote.

Why would I use someone else's software for my setup if I can code my own tools in a few hours and have complete control of every aspect of my environment?

but is that safe?

of course not. none of it is safe. But I have spent 6 months building safety and trust mechanisms, linters, sandboxes, guardrails, access control systems and agent tools that make it a million times safer than if I was just YOLOing everything, so at this point I do have a lot of trust in my harness. It's safe-adjacent, and I'm willing to accept the risk in return for the ridiculous output I can produce.

There's an unbelievable amount of power at my fingertips. Things are moving way too fast and I'm holding on for dear life, but god damnit if it isn't the most fun I've ever had.
